A Chain of Events : Making bicycle accidents less shitty
Description
A Chain of Events is a service design project looking at what happens after bicycle accidents and suggests four interventions that can offer support after an accident. Acknowledging that accidents will never be a pleasant experience, the project aims to make bicycle accidents less shitty. This is done by offering information and support at various points in time through the accident journey. The context of the project is Oslo and the interventions have been made as suggestions for touchpoints that could be implemented in the near-future by the Norwegian Cyclists’ Association. The interventions consist of the Field Guide, to help with immediate steps at the accident scene; the Waiting Room Hand-Out, with advice and information about your rights after an accident; the Main Site, a website gathering all the information in one place; and the Entrance, suggestions for promotional material that can be used to raise awareness about the service offerings. Although the designs presented are suggestions for what could be, the response from users has been positive and together with the Norwegian Cyclists’ Association a plan for the implementation of the touchpoints will be agreed on after graduation.
