This is nothing new: we take a lot of photos every day, many of which we never look at again and just forget in our phones’ storage. So what is the point of having these photos? How should we use them? In this interaction design diploma project, we have explored possible solutions so that forgotten photos can be seen again, and may even bring people surprises and new value. In terms of the title, “Reshape Memories”, the word “memories” has a double meaning. On one hand, memories are not absolutely accurate; they can be reinterpreted and given new meanings. When we look back at a photo, we are constantly making associations in our brains to reinterpret a memory. On the other hand, our final concept is inspired by the “Memories” feature of today’s smartphone albums, which brings photos that may be important back to users through AI technology. Our outcome “Colagic” takes “Memories” further by making photos into collages through AI technology. Colagic uses AI algorithms to help users filter related photos and present them as collages, bringing a new experience of reviewing photos. Simple interactions such as moving and rotating allow users to easily create their own collages and share them with others to convey the memories or feelings contained in the photos.en_US
