Beskrivelse
The municipality of Oslo own 119 buildings that are left unused and without future plans. One of these buildings are Trondheimsgata 132 at Carl Berner. Trondheimsgata 132 is chosen as a test lab to explore different ways of shared living; to investigate what shared architecture an existing building can inhabit. Unused Assets is a transformation project, focused on the threshold of the private, the shared and the public. Explored through a cooperative with different apartment typologies, a public first floor and a community centre. The thesis explores the question whether or not the 119 empty municipality owned buildings can be used to aid a non-profit housing sector in Oslo; treating housing as a common good instead of a commodity.
