Beskrivelse
This project explores the possibility of transforming and inhabiting the mountain halls of Lysebotn 1, a power plant facility about to close down due to construction of a new and more efficient plant. The facility has dramatic surroundings, extreme conditions and is constructed 50 meters inside the mountain, with no possibility of natural light. The facility is located in Lysebotn, a remote village with 13 permanent residents, idyllically situated at the beginning of Lysefjorden in south-west Norway surrounded by steep mountains and waterfalls. Because of its dramatic and scenic nature it attracts approximately 100,000 tourists a year, mostly campers, hikers, climbers and base-jumpers.
